In January of 1997, eleven couples gathered together to seek God’s heart about establishing a church in Jefferson City, TN. A theme scripture emerged during this time of prayer, Psalm 107:35-38: “He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs, there He brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle. They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest; He blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and He did not let their herds diminish.”
These couples envisioned a place of healing and fruitfulness — a church that would seek His presence, be a safe place for the broken, and see lives transformed. Led by founding pastors Jim and Peggy Price, the church held its first service on Easter Sunday, March 30, 1997. Since then, Heritage has remained a place of presence and transformation — where we encounter God, touch lives, and impact nations. Heritage Fellowship Church has become a family, and a place of renewal, refreshing, and restoration. The name Heritage came from Psalm 61:5: “For You, O God have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.” A heritage is something received and then carried forward. We are thankful for a rich history of leaders who have guided the church to where we are today. We move forward with purpose and passion to see God’s kingdom advanced through Heritage Fellowship Church as we follow Him together. |
