![]() Evaluations are good. Evaluate yourself and say "Holy Spirit, what is it in my life that is stealing, and taking from me my God-given destiny?" We do not use evaluations to feel hopeless or to be depressed, but to be impressed with who Jesus is, and who he wants to you to be. Whatever you've gone through, Jesus can fix, heal and make your identity whole. The answer to a healthy identity is always Jesus. Using this Self-Evaluation, commit to spending time with God this week
Use the self-evaluation table below to determine if your identity is healthy. The left side shows false identities you may have aligned yourself with, while the right side is what God says about you. Anger and rage will not lift the shame. Revenge will not remove the deep well of grief. A bitterness that longs to punish will only cause your own soul to die within. Hanging on to your perception of your abuser, based on the abuse, only crystalizes your forever view of who they are. When, in reality, God’s grace can change that person into a new creation. Even if the abusing or offending person doesn’t change and never asks you for forgiveness for the wrongs they have done – your personal freedom is discovered in praying, “Father forgive them for they didn’t really know what they were doing.” Don’t let the abuser or the abuse be a thief that steals your destiny. The only path to freedom is the one modeled by Jesus, which is forgiveness. Forgiveness does not mean a wrong was not done, but it does release you from being the final pronouncement of judgment. Forgiveness is about your liberation and removing yourself as judge. Let God be the judge of the other person.

Is your identity healthy? It's hard to know who you are if your identity is misplaced, fractured, broken, crushed, hidden, trapped, or lost. What you believe about God determines who you become. His thoughts about you, according to scripture, are more powerful than words spoken over you and thoughts you may have about yourself. Use the self-evaluation table below to determine if your identity is healthy. The left side shows false identities you may have aligned yourself with, while the right side is what God says about you. Quiet yourself and take time to evaluate all the thoughts that may come as you think through the questions of where you fit in this list of identities. Where the enemy wants to speak a lie about your identity, listen to what the Father wants to say, because nothing else matters. Let the Lord dig deep in the strongholds of lies you have believed, and give God the permission to go deep and speak his identity of freedom over you. ![]() Poor self-image | Positive self-image Psalm 139:13-14 , I John 3:1 and I Peter 2:9 Insecure | Secure 2 Samuel 23:5, Hebrews 6:19 Inferior | Confident Hebrews 4:16, Isaiah 32:17 Isolated | Social Proverbs 18:1, Hebrews 10:25 Parental detachment | Healthy parental relationship Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:4 Avoids conflict | Embraces conflict Matthew 18:15-17, James 1:2 Addictive behaviors | Passion for a cause Colossians 3:23, I Corinthians 10:31 Taker | Giver Proverbs 21:26, Proverbs 22:9 Emotionally unstable | Emotionally stable Psalm 62:2, Jeremiah 17:8 Depression | Vitality I Timothy 4:7-9, Proverbs 14:30 and 42:5 Non-Energetic/Weak | Energetic/Strength Isaiah 40:29-31, Habakkuk 3:19 Chameleon | Stands Alone II Timothy 4:16, I Corinthians 15:58 |
